Product Teams
- Product Teams are organized towards achieving specific deliverables or products. For example, a working robot drive train and chassis or an effective media program. While skills are certainly required to achieve these deliverables, instilling skill is not the product teams' raison d'être. Getting the job done is. Product Teams are student-driven, with mentors assigned to provide guidance and knowledge. These teams are often multi-disciplined.
Skill-set (discipline) Teams
- Skill-set, or discipline teams exist for the purpose of developing skills and knowledge within a specific arena (or discipline). These teams are intended specifically to develop skills and to prepare and qualify students to contribute to the robot's design and construction. By the way, you'll likely find these skills useful more generally than just to build DEWBOT IX. Discipline Teams are by nature focused in a specific arena. Students are allowed and encouraged to participate in more than one Discipline Team (but may wish to do so sequentially). Discipline Teams are mentor-driven, but also possess Student Leads.
People
Team Sab-BOT-age is what it is only due to the efforts of the people involved. DEWBOT VIII's success will be in the hands of the students, mentors and parents engaged. The team's very existence is possible only through the gracious generosity of our sponsors.
