Light Bulb Sales

  • 4 Cases of 30 each of the First Generation
  • 20 bulbs sold by students - $400
  • 28 bulbs sold by mentors - $560
  • 7 bulbs sold at $15 - $105
  • 5 bulbs out with payment pending
  • 2 Cases of 30 bulbs unopened
  • $100 credited toward student fees
  • $965 Gross Profit
  • $750 Expenses – cost of 4 cases of bulbs
  • $215 Net income
  • Introduction of second generation bulbs
  • Two types
  • Smaller – Same cost to manufacture as the current generation – 8.5 Watt
  • Larger - $17 manufacture – FIRST wants us to sell these for $28 – 13.5 Watt
  • FIRST is no longer producing the first generation light bulbs

Space Options

427 Creamery Way

  • Great FRC Building but contract for lease to a 3rd party
  • Non-binding
  • 120 day due diligence is in effect but endpoint is uncertain
  • Waterloo Gardens will give us 30 days notice to vacate

CCIU Scenario

  • CAT Brandywine (1635 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville) becoming available next summer
  • 4,000 ft2 may be available
  • Off-hour access is problematic
  • CCIU eager to have a CCIU FTC team
  • Recruit throughout Chester County
  • Meets a CCIU objective – creativity training
  • CCIU wants proposal

STEM Academy

  • Fiore wants Robotics (FLL, VEX, and FRC) back in S.T.E.M. Academy
  • For FRC:
  • ~500 ft2 storage space
  • Machines could be in fixed location
  • We would need to put things away and clean up when finished meetings
  • Rationalize our “stuff”
  • Fiore indicates off-hour access is manageable
  • Fiore wants a plan
  • Fiore wants main recruitment from S.T.E.M. Academy students
  • Current students are welcome to remain on the team – no issue with non-DASD students
  • FRC Proposal
  • Relocate 1640 to S.T.E.M. Academy
  • Propose to CCIU the formation of a new CCIU FRC team based at CAT Brandywine – rookie year 2013
  • DAR to provide oversight, share training, defined resources, recruit and train mentors, help fundraise
