DEWBOT I competing at Ramp Riot
DEWBOT I was our first robot in 2005 and it played the game Triple Play(game animation).

The team placed 23rd of 55 at the Chesapeake Regional and 13 of 24 at PARC. They were also quarter-finalists at Ramp Riot.

Press Release

US FIRST Robotics Team #1640 is proud of our competitive performance in 2005, our rookie year. We placed in the middle of the pack in all three competitions we entered: the US FIRST Chesapeake Regional (U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD, March 2005), the Pennsylvania Robot Challenge (PARC VIII) at Tunkhannock Area High School (May 7, 2005), and Ramp Riot at Wissahickon High School (November 5, 2005). We accomplished this on a very short time frame and with a very limited budget. Our team coach, Mr. Paul Sabatino, has 8 years of experience with US FIRST, having coached a team at his previous high school. We are very fortunate to have support from a dedicated group of technical mentors, including teachers, parents, local business employees, active engineers, and retired engineers.

DEWBot I Team and Robot

Our ultimate goal is to earn a regional championship and eventually a national title. We are currently working very hard to obtain sufficient funding and machining capabilities. Once these areas are addressed, we are confident that we can field a robot capable of besting any competitor.

Our goal for 2006 is to establish a relationship with a major corporate sponsor who can provide a stable source of financial support as well as technical assistance. We would be happy to bring our 2005 robot to your location for a demonstration. In addition, you are always welcome to visit us at Downingtown East High School.

We take pride in our can-do attitude. It is our strong desire to become one of the best teams in the Delaware Valley/Eastern Region. Our mission is to continue building this team of enthusiastic high school students as we work to achieve the highest levels of technical and organizational excellence – and have a great time doing it!

You can read more about the teams thoughts and goals in their Chairman's Award submission

We are registered for the Philadelphia Regional Competition to be held at Drexel University, March 30-April 1, 2006.
