Tasks Reflections
Moving nubmer plate
  • Josh moved the number plate to a lower position in order to make the linear slide move up and down smoother
Planning
  • The whole team had a team meeting about how to improve for the next qualifiers. We talked about how we could try to win the Think Award, Inspire Award, and how to actually achieve to win the competition or just have a good enough robot to qualify. We also improved for our outreach.
Calling the libary
  • Josh called the library in order to try to get an outreach event with them. Josh has to call at a later time because the person who could plan it was absent. He also attempted to call the edowningtown library, but they were closed
Working on Auton
  • Laura, Nick, and Akhila worked on auton, fixing the bug that caused the robot to stop while searching for the IR beacon.
  • At one point, we realized we were looking for the IR sensor in the wrong NXT port. We learned we should always double check that the wiring has not changed.
  • After many tests, we decided to start writing values out to the screen. In the process, we realized that the IR sensor was never reading a value high enough to warrant a continuation of the program.
  • After lowering the value, and testing for other positions, we decided that the IR sensor would need to be moved to the other side of the robot.
  • While working on auton, the servo for the IR arm broke, and had to be replaced.
