Tetrix Treads measured dimensions

Ordered Tetrix Treads (2 kits plus accessories) have arrived.

  • Idler wheel diameter = 2.560"
  • Tread thickness = 0.175"; Tread width = 1.560"
  • Idler / Tread effective diameter = 2.910"
  • Pitch (19 1/16" for 50 links) = 0.381" (0.384" measured in CAD model)
  • Drive sprocket had 20 teeth - pitch diameter = 2.445"
Intake
  • Braden, Myles, Amal, Wade, and Trevor were helping out with the intake
  • We measured the length and width of our mini chasis. We also used Polycarbon glass as well.

Tasks Reflections
Drive Chain treads
  • Josh worked with Gary and Daniel to attempt to put together the tank treads. We put the rubber tread grips into the treads. This took a long time and Gary reported that His arm ached after he slid all the pieces into their proper place.
Possible scoring methods
  • Braiden, Wade, Myles, and Trevor brainstormed ideas that would intake the debris and move it into the storage system. The intake method found to be most effective was using axels and a motor with surgical tubing attached in order to suck the debris in.
