Tasks Reflections
New buttons
  • Trevor worked to design two new buttons that we could hand out at super regionals. He finished with both designs and then chose to make a button in solid works that he plans to 3D print. The two designs include a Pokemon themed button with "Sabotage, gotta score em all" and a more traditional button with the team's name, number, and logo.
New Zipliner paddle
  • Josh and Matt continued their quest to create the almighty level presser. After finding the plastic of their choice, which was 1/32 inch polycarbonate, they went to figure out how to properly mount the C channel to the mount. The main issue with mounting it directly to the mount was that the bolts used to secure the lever were hitting the mount as it was lowering, causing the servo to not fully rotate down. They first went around this by adding washers to act like spacers in the bering. This almost worked, but the bering came out too often so they had to change their idea. They then thought of the idea of adding a piece of polycarbonate into the mount to act as a smooth surface to cover the bolts. They created one for testing on one side, and found that this worked well. They now have to attach the plastic to the current metal paddle in some way. They chose to drill through and fasten the plastic. They plan to make the next side's servo and mount them for testing next meeting.
