CAD & Design

Sub teams were created for each main component, including gear holding, ball pickup, shooting, and rope climbing. Work began on prototypes for each system.

Sullivan Stuehrmann, CAD Lead

A prototype for the wheeled shooter was worked on. It is a single wheel shooter which sits in a guide to propel the ball at the desired angle. Not much progress was made on this prototype in CAD.

Mechanical

Programming

-We set up a camera/LED ring/router to begin vision testing. We hope to find an equation for distance based on the target information. -After some initial networking issues, we got it working. We did not, however, have enough time to start collecting data. We will continue tomorrow. -We also discovered that the web dashboard for the radio is not accessible when configured with the FRC firmware.

Strategy

-We continued discussion on strategy. -We analyzed the scoring potentials of various robots and decided at high levels of play an effective shooter would be very important. Fuel is the only scoring that is not limited. -We decided to focus on shooting, however giving up gears entirety was not an effective strategy for early tournaments. We will pick up gears from the loading station (not from the floor) -We also set some robot requirements, including floor ball pickup. -We discussed the drivetrain, both swerve and west coast drive(WCD) -After weighing the pros/cons of both drive trains, we decided on swerve for its mobility and our experience with it.
