Tasks Reflections
Driver's Practice
  • Our main priority for tonight was to get into the rhythm of matches. We started with autonomous and practiced in cycles.
  • We also wanted to improve our communication skills as a drive team.
  • Through the meeting, we found that the best strategy would be to score two loads in the mid zone, and one in the high. If we don't have enough time to score in the mid twice, we will go straight to the high zone.
  • The climbing worked really nicely, which was a relief!
  • We have to be wary of our battery management. We figured that we will just change the battery for each match, and keep all the batteries charging in between. We also have to remember our system!
  • Another thing that came up a lot was the intake jamming. It doesn't seem to be causing a huge problem (Akhila just has to remember to reverse the intake when it happens), but it's something to look into after this competition.
  • A more worrying thing was that the climbing stopped working after the first hour and a half!! We found that the arm motor was dying slowly, so we replaced it. That seemed to do the job.
Video/Media
  • We continued to get cool angles for the video. After that, we started editing the footage.
  • The animation is pretty much complete, and looks really awesome!
Autonomous
  • Autonomous is pretty much reliable now (yay!).
  • We tuned a few values to refine it further and to reduce the jerkiness.
  • Even though autocorrect is here to help us, we don't want to revert to that every time, which is what was happening.
  • We found that the distance that the robot moves straight is too long, so we lengthened it a bit, which helped.
