Lan Fundraiser

I have gone back and noted my answers with bold. It is only partially complete, I will finish later.

I have a ton of questions that need to get answered. I'll put them here, you can either email back answers or better yet start a page on the wiki where we can capture the information.

Basics: (The basic on a business plan) 1) How many people / ages We are thinking 50-75 people High Schoolers, but that depends on a lot of factors like if we air a commercial through the school we could get a lot more 2) What time of day On a Friday around 6-11 or something around that 3) How long refer to previous 4) What game(s) Warsow For the tournament Counter strike source, Left for dead, and any others that are suggested, and maybe i'll bring a wii for casual gamers 5) Food / Drinks that you will sell, cost of the food / drinks, cups, plates, forks/spoons, napkins, selling price, predicted profit / loss (Sponsors / discounts for food like Dominoes for Pizza, etc) Can people bring their own food / drink? 6) Entrance fee We were thinking 5 dollars and get people on food, but we can easily bump that up to 8 $ or 10 $ 7) Prizes / costs for prizes (are there sponsors for prizes? (Gamestop, Microcenter, Best Buy, etc) 8) Cost of the facility: Cleanup, security, rental fees, insurance, etc. 9) Security around crashers, theft protection, keeping out of age guests, alcohol / drug control, etc. 10) Additional infrastructure needed (large monitors, poster paper / pens for signs, etc) 11) Total cost, gross income, profit projections

The number of people will drive the next set of questions: 1) How much power (in amps) 2) LAN information -- Game machines supplied by gamers? Desktops? Monitors? Laptops with Monitors -- Game servers -- Router(s) -- Switches -- Cables 3) Will there be spare equipment (ie keyboards/mice) 4) Number of power strips needed 5) Seats / tables

Do you have sources for the network stuff? For example 24 people in the cafeteria: 8 people to a table: Each table needs a 8 port switch, three tables, another 8 port switch for the router / server and to consolidate the table traffic. 80 people is much more stuff.

Financial and network things can be done in a spreadsheet to allow for adjustments for the size of the event. It's easy to create a formula that says "Each person will eat 3.4 slices of pizza, 8 slices of pizza to a pie, order pies in the following order: cheese, pepperoni, sausage, veggie ( pepper, onion, mushroom) so if I have 24 people I need 10.2 pies, round up to 11, so I need to order 3 cheese, 3 pepperonni, 3 sausage and 2 veggie.

Same for the computer info, power strips have 6 outlets, so three computers to a strip, plus 4 strips for host equipment (switches, router, servers, etc)

There are two links that I found that talk about things that are needed
