Just because the build season is over it does not mean that FRC is over. Now comes the fun part of driving the robot at competitions. There are two offical events that we do and 5 off season events. Come cheer DEWBOT VI on as it plays Breakaway

VEX Roboteers

Our new season playing VEX Robotics Clean Sweep started September 23 at the Downingtown Educational Center from 6:30-8:30 PM. New and experienced roboteers in 7th to 12th grade are welcome! See our Clean Sweep page for more details.

Last weeks of the 2009-2010 VEX robot season

We are building a number of different robots for the next few weeks. First up are the final touches on Pegasus and Longshot our two World Champion contenders.

We are building four robots to demo starting in April and across the summer as part of our VEX robotics outreach. These robots will be able to play Crossball a simple demonstration game.

VEX Mentors - Tuesday Mentor Workshops

We've completed the last of this seasons Mentor Workshops. See Mentor Workshop for details of what the workshops cover. We will be starting them up in the fall. If you have a need for one across the summer contact Info at STEMRobotics . org to get one set up.

FIRST Lego League

The second season of the Downingtown Robotics FIRST Lego League is about to start. Registration is now open and is being handled by the Downingtown Area Recreation Consortium. The official kickoff is Friday, September 3, when FIRST will post the new 2010-2011 competition. Our meetings will be held at Lionville Elementary School on Monday evenings from 6:15 to 8:00, starting on September 13.

Chichester VEX Contest 25-Sept-2010

Our summer students take their robots to Chichester for their second event (The first was back in May). Come cheer them on! (Chichester Middle School, 925 Meetinghouse Road, Boothwyn, PA 19061)

VEX Parents Night - 28-Sept-2010

This is a special Tuesday night session for parents only at the Robotics Center, 320 Boot Road, 6:30-8:30. Bob Whalen, our new Chief Roboteer will be presenting to parents all they need to know about the VEX program

VEX Kickoff - 29-Sept-2010

Our first night of the fall season. We will be meeting at the Robotics Center, 320 Boot Road from 6:30-8:30. Everyone, from new roboteers to returning roboteers are welcome.

Presetation & Demonstration at FIATECH - 5-Oct-2010

Team 1640 has been invited to make a presentation and robot demonstration to FIATECH during their annual meeting on 5-Oct at the Sofitel, Philadelphia.

Duel on the Delaware - October 16, 2010

Duel on the Delaware will be held at:

Carneys Point, NJ

Flapjack Fundraiser at Applebee's - 23 October 2010

It's our second Flapjack Fundraiser at the Applebee's located at 470 West Lincoln Highway, Exton, PA. We had a great time at the Pancake Breakfast 2009, come have breakfast with us again!!

Ramp Riot - 13-November 2010

DEWBOT V Ramp Riot performance was good, but we are hoping for better this coming November. Our VEX roboteers will be holding demos for the Girl Scout Girls in Gear program that morning.

Our biggest Fundraiser and our Biggest Competition. In 2010 there were 28 teams at our event.

VEX World Championships 14-16-April-2011

VEX World Championships to be held at the ESPN Center in Disney World, Orlando Florida. Last year we had two teams qualify and go to the World Championship.

FRC Championships 27-30-Apr-2011

FRC Championships will be held in St. Louis MO. We are trying to go to this event in 2011! start planning now!
